My experience as a Deputy System Integration Manager, Network Manager, Networking Chief, Network and PC Repair Administrator, and Network Administrator, together with the expertise evidenced by my multiple certifications (MCSE, MCP+I, CCNA) has allowed me to develop the skills necessary to excel in the areas of LAN/WAN and system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. I ve managed network systems as large as 3000 users, and spanning as many as 16 locations.

 

In my current position of Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager with SAIC, I plan, lead, and carry out technical projects that include assessment and resolution of system design, system architecture, and system implementation issues. I supervise technical leads in the areas of Hosting, Desktop Services, Network Services, and Helpdesk. I also oversee the operations of the Network Support Team, including installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, training, maintenance, and customer support. I m ultimately responsible as the final escalation point for issues relating to Cisco routers, Solarwinds, VPN, Checkpoint Firewall, DNS, servers, Citrix, PC Anywhere, and other hardware and software, along with all associated protocols and connectivity, in a variety of operating system environments.

 

As Networking Chief in the USMC, I managed the daily operation of a data facility, including installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, repairs, training, and customer support. This included supporting servers, workstations, routers, TCP/IP, configuration of systems, and network connectivity.

 

During my time as Network/PC Repair Administrator with the USMC, I oversaw operation of a data communication facility. This included maintaining servers, installing workstations, configuring TCP/IP connections, monitoring server performance, and more. While in this position, I migrated a Banyan Vines Novell and Token Ring network to Microsoft NT and 10BaseT with fiber optic backbone.

 

My first position in the USMC was Network Administrator. This involved installation, upgrade, troubleshooting, and support of a 2000+ user network system. I maintained servers and installed hardware and software.

2.  Knowledge of systems analysis principles, methods and procedures for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance to customers.

 

My work as a Deputy System Integration Manager, Network Manager, Networking Chief, Network and PC Repair Administrator, and Network Administrator has always involved analyzing and monitoring systems, documenting and resolving technical and user issues, and providing and supervising customer support functions.

 

In my current role of Deputy System Integration Manager, I direct the support and improvement of a network servicing >1000 users across 16 sites. Customer support is one of my key functions. I supervise a staff of 6 in the monitoring, maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and servicing of a Cisco/Windows/Compaq infrastructure operating across Windows, Citrix, Novell, and Linux environments. During my almost 8 years in this position, I ve planned and led several technology upgrades and migrations, without any unplanned loss of service. I ve also implemented new technologies, such as VPN, SMS, and new Windows versions. My team is responsible for all desktop support, network support, and helpdesk operations. As the leader of this group, I have been effective in developing and updating policies and procedures, ensuring the proper documentation of all issues, and compliance with all support service level agreements.

 

As Networking Chief with the USMC in Japan, I directed a 10-person team charged with supporting over 2300 user accounts. This involved maintaining connectivity and servicing various types of servers, installing and maintaining workstations, adding users to the system, configuring groups, and analyzing and monitoring server performance levels. My team effectively resolved and documented all issues.

 

In the position of Network/PC Administrator with the USMC, I oversaw installation, support, and maintenance of a network servicing >3000 user accounts. I supervised a 10-person team in maintaining servers, workstations, and TCP/IP.

3.  Knowledge of administration and security of Information Technology systems.

 

My knowledge of IT system administration and security is vast and nearly comprehensive. I hold my MCSE, MCP+I, CCNA, and ITIL v2 certifications, and am in the process of obtaining my Project Management Professional certification and MCSA. My training has included Advanced Network Administration, Enterprise Management Solutions, Implementing and Maintaining a Windows 2003 Environment, and many others. All of the positions I have held, from Network Administrator to my current role of Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager, have involved administration and/or management of network systems, and the fact that I ve operated in military environments has required a constant ensuring of maintaining proper IT system security at all times. In addition, I hold my Active Top Secret Clearance and have held it for more than 10 years.

 

In the position of Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager at SAIC, I oversee Hosting, Desktop, Network, UNIX, Helpdesk, and Network Support operations. Much of the work I manage involves systems transmitting Top Secret information/data, so it is critical that all system security protocols and requirements be met at all times. This includes hardware, software, network systems, and data communications, in UNIX, Windows, and Linux environments.

 

As the Networking Chief at a USMC facility in Japan, I maintained network and system security for a 2300-user network, including hardware, software, and protocols. One of my responsibilities was training technical personnel and end users, and part of this training included security protocols.

 

While in the positions of Network/PC Repair Administrator and Network Administrator, I ensured compliance with USMC system and network security requirements at all times.

4.  Knowledge of the procedures and techniques necessary to gather, organize, and analyze information.

 

Gathering, organizing, and analyzing information is essential to all of the positions I have held, from Network Administrator to Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager. I have, and still am, constantly performing and overseeing the monitoring of systems and networks, utilizing BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP protocols, system monitoring tools, helpdesk and support team reports, and other tools and procedures.

 

In my current role of Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager, I assess and resolve issues relating to all areas, perform and carry out system and data analysis, prepare and review technical and performance reports, and provide reports to senior management. Much of this relates to system and network performance monitoring, but it also involves security, regulatory, and deliverables monitoring and compliance. One of my duties is overseeing the desktop and network support teams, as well as helpdesk operations, and all of these involve extensive data analysis on my part.

 

During my time as Networking Chief for the USMC in Japan, I managed the daily operation of a data facility, which included the constant analysis and monitoring of server performance. This meant directing a 10-person team in gathering and compiling the data and presenting it for analysis. I also tracked server usage and system performance levels.

Throughout my career, I ve been required to communicate expertly, both orally and in writing. My management positions with SAIC and the US Marines have not only involved supervising multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams ranging from 10 to 30 persons, but also the preparation and delivery of technical and management reports and presentations. I ve also been responsible for developing and conducting technical training classes and programs, including all materials and lessons.

 

As a manager and technical support professional (Network Administrator, Network/PC Repair Administrator), I ve not only successfully prepared and delivered training sessions, but I ve also been actively involved in working with end users on technical issues, which required the communication and demonstration of technical information.

 

In my current role of Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager, I plan and coordinate technology projects, which involves delivering group and one-on-one information dissemination, planning and leading project and technical meetings, conducting employee evaluations, and generally communicating with subordinates in writing and verbally. During my employment with SAIC as a Deputy System Integration Manager/Network Manager, I ve had the opportunity to supervise a staff of 30 for the past 7 years, including technical and administrative personnel. I ve been effective at leading multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams in fast-paced, mission-critical environments. Over this period, I ve prepared and delivered performance evaluations, counseled employees on performance issues, investigated and resolved personal and personnel problems, and worked with human resources personnel to ensure compliance with all EEO and affirmative action regulations and requirements.

 

As a Networking Chief and Network/PC Repair Administrator with the USMC, I supervised multi-cultural teams of more than10 persons in Okinawa, Japan and the United States.
