KSA QUESTIONS
1. Describe your experience and/or academic background, and how your skills would contribute to the Agency s mission.
I offer a blend of both professional and academic background that will prove conducive to achieving your objectives. This background includes practical research and analysis experience with the Department of Defense (DoD), both as an Intern and member of contracted teams, in support of its mission to ensure national security.
Since 2002, I have held varied positions of increasing responsibility focused on conducting extensive research and analysis of diverse topics, with a heavy emphasis on intelligence used to counteract potential and existing security threats, as well as compiling, preparing and authoring a broad range of written reports, papers and related materials. For example, I Interned with the DoD in 2005, providing senior management with research assistance as well as written briefs and presentations on diverse subjects that included infrastructure protection, terrorism, Islam, and regional security issues, acquiring valuable hands-on experience in DoD objectives as well as operational policies/procedures.
After a subsequent 1-year position as a Reference/Technical Services Librarian in Washington DC, I accepted a job as an Evolving Threats Analyst with Cubic Applications, Inc. In this capacity, I researched, wrote and presented a high volume of white papers addressing nuclear weapon terrorism, national strategies, policies, and proliferation as well as technology and computer security. While there, I co-authored a catalog of infrastructure treat assessments and a summary report, Evolving Threats and Enduring Challenges.
I was then recruited by Pluribus International Inc. to conduct research and analysis of data targeting areas and persons of interest for the DoD, providing quality counterintelligence support in areas including technology transfer and protection issues. In this position, I was entrusted with writing and analyzing secret-level original research papers. Presently, I am a Junior Data Analyst with Computer Sciences Corporation, where I am researching and analyzing complex intelligence data and providing detailed case files supporting detainee and related investigations. I have been able to apply my dynamic critical thinking and analytical skills toward identifying links between detainees, terrorist acts and related individuals/entities of interest.
To complement this experience, I offer a rich academic background that clearly supports your objectives. In 2006, I earned an M.S. in Defense and Strategic Studies, graduating with High Honors and a 4.0 GPA. I was awarded Thesis with Distinction for my thesis, Fault Lines: Ideology, Pragmatism, and Geopolitics in the Islamic Republic of Iran. I also wrote numerous research papers on topics including nuclear terrorism, signals intelligence, Islamic extremism in Pakistan, and Muslim immigration in Europe. Supporting my research credentials, I have also earned an MS in Information and Library Science, graduating with a 3.80 GPA. My proficiency in diverse technology-driven analytical tools and specialized information software, as detailed in my resume, should further prove instrumental as a member of your team.
