Senior Captain / Emergency Communications (2007 C Present)

         Apply dynamic leadership talents toward supervising and delegating high-volume dispatch operations to ensure appropriate response levels to address emergency incidents, as well as emergency dispatch of HFD apparatus to emergency incidents within the City of Houston and / or surrounding agencies requesting mutual aid from HFD.

         Ensure consistent communications with the Houston Police Department for combined events with HFD teams.

         Coordinate communications with the Office of Emergency Management during natural disasters and severe weather to guarantee fast response to emergency incidents and efficient evacuation of large-scale communities.

         Activate and implement emergency procedures for Multiple Casualty Incidents or Weapons of Mass Destruction.

         Oversee HFD apparatus and personnel to ensure appropriate response level and time to citizens of Houston.

 

Captain / Emergency Communications (2004 C 2007)

         Strategically steered emergency dispatch of HFD apparatus to emergency incidents within the City of Houston and surrounding agencies requesting mutual aid, including continually liaising between the HPD during combined events.

         Optimized departmental response time and the success of emergency procedures implementation by proactively coordinating communications with the Office of Emergency Management during natural disasters and severe weather events, as well as pertaining to critical Multiple Casualty Incidents or Weapons of Mass Destruction.

 

 

 

 

Engineer Operator / Paramedic (2000 C 2004)

         Utilized broad scope of healthcare knowledge to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within fast-paced medical and trauma emergencies, including managing administration of emergency drugs to stabilize life-threatening injuries, as well as ensuring safety and professionalism during stressful crowd interactions.

         Responded to structural fires and served as RIT team standby to provide emergency care for HFD staff and citizens.

         Led targeted decision-making among personnel and operations of medic units and high-pressure emergency scenes.

         Communicated with Incident Commander and performed rapid triaging of victims during Multiple Casualty Incidents.

         Participated in drug studies with Baylor College of Medicine as first line responders to emergency situations.

 

EMT / Firefighter (1995 C 2000)

         Contributed solid knowledge of firefighting and public safety fundamentals to perform structural firefighting, salvage and overhaul applications at fire incidents, and extrication applications within motor vehicle entrapment incidents.

         Provided Basic Life Support (BLS) for medical and trauma emergencies, and initiated public relations as required.

         Implemented fire safety classes and demonstrations in appearances with the Houston Independent School District.
